We have a tenta­tive contract agree­ment with the State of Washington. The coali­tion negoti­a­tion team worked extremely hard during this diffi­cult time in order to reach this tenta­tive agree­ment. Your negoti­a­tion team is recom­mending a YES vote.

Unfor­tu­nately, due to the unprece­dented COVID-19 pandemic crisis and its effects on the state budget, no one was able to gain any wage increases for the life of the contract. We were able to bargain some meaningful contract language that applies to Safety in the Workplace, profes­sional training and meal & rest breaks. Addition­ally, agency-desig­nated non-backfill positions will take one furlough day per month from July 1, 2021 until June 30, 2023 with the poten­tial for additional furlough dates. We are glad to announce that health­care costs are maintained at 85% Agency cost and 15% employee cost.
